Service Description
4 December 2021 We will explore how the autistic brain works and why social stories are so impactful. With this understanding we will look at how to write effective social stories and adapt them using different variations to suit the needs of different children, e.g. incorporating text / PECs / Choice charts, etc. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a social story particular to a child / case / situation and receive feedback from the trainer. What are the difficulties associated with ASD? What is narration and why is it so important for a child's development? What is a social story and why is it so impactful? What are the basic components of a social story? How do I adapt the concept to suit different needs / circumstances / children, including the use of PECS / text / choice / reflection, etc. Practical opportunity: Use this knowledge to write a social story for a particular child / situation and receive feedback. Certificate of attendance Training will take place via Zoom and details will be emailed beforehand.
